June RING: Oooh, I Have An Idea (&& 101 in the Classroom)
"Oooh, I Have An Idea" explores collaborative rope where Top & bottom co-create dynamic scenes using communication, trust & shenanigans!
This class is a lecture and discussion, no special knowledge is needed, but having a basic vocabulary of skills helps.
In “Oooh, I Have An Idea” we dive into the playful, collaborative chaos that happens when both Top and bottom get to steer the scene and explore collaborative tying as an evolving conversation between tying partners, where both voice actively shape the journey. Inspired by personal mid-scene revelations of “You know how we could make this even worse?,” this class is all about turning suggestions into shared adventures by leaning into curiosity, communication, and shared creativity in rope. We’ll explore how to offer and receive ideas, riff off of each other, and co-create ties that evolve in real-time by blending trust, humor, and just enough shenanigans to keep things interesting. Come ready to communicate, experiment, and maybe discover that the most fun scenes are the ones no single person planned so that scenes becomes a dynamic, co-created experience. Bring your questions and your experiences to share!
In the classroom we will have our monthly Rope Basics Class, covering all the fundamental aspects on rope bondage! We've updated our presentation to include more material and teach a bit more to get you started on your rope journey. You'll learn a bit about the history of rope, how to choose the rope that's right for you, and what we like to discuss before tying with someone. You'll also learn a single column tie, how to extend rope, and frictions to complete your ties!Even if you've been to the Basics before, this might be a great refresher! If you need rope we have it to use and don't worry if you don't have a tying partner! We have extra limbs via furniture. We are a local rope group and non-profit in Nashville, Tennessee, focusing on non-dogmatic practices and equitable access to education.
RING is intended to help foster and support learning and growth in rope for all experience levels. The group's primary focus is on knowledge sharing from one member to another to help people grow in their abilities with rope. Everyone’s rope journey is their own, and our facilitators pride themselves on assisting everyone as an individual rather than conforming to a specific style.
Feel free to come and join us anytime; we do not require a specific membership and welcome rope enthusiasts from the Southeast and beyond!
