Learn about the influential sculpture Meta Vaux Warrick Fuller for Juneteenth

This K-12 teacher workshop will examine the sculptures of Meta Vaux Warrick Fuller (1877-1968). Her vision of the ancient world created unique sculptures that continue to resonate with audiences today. This workshop will focus on her sculpture Ethiopia or Ethiopia Awakening, which was put on display. In addition we willl look at how to use primary documentation to explore the role of Black women during the Reconstruction Period in the United States, which can help provide us with models for how to use primary documentation in the ancient world.
