Larkspur Book Club: The Year of Magical Thinking
Join us for an enriching discussion of "The Year of Magical Thinking" by Joan Didion.
“Joan Didion delivers a searing portrait of a marriage and a life – in good times and bad – that will speak to anyone who has ever loved and lost a husband or wife or child"
This installment of the Larkspur Book Club will meet Thursday, July 30th, 2026 from 11am-12:30pm CST, and we will be reading, "The Year of Magical Thinking," the award-winning memoir by Joan Didion.
How it works: for each edition of our book club we’re going to select one book we enjoy that engages themes of death, grief, or nature. We’ll announce the selection and give you time to read it before we meet in-person at the Larkspur Library for an enriching discussion.
Participants will be responsible for purchasing their own copy of the book or borrowing from the Nashville Public Library prior to our event.
The first 30 minutes of book club will be for tea, snacks, and mingling, then we will get settled and dive into a 1hr discussion of the book! Registration for this book club will be extremely limited, so make sure you reserve your seat early!
