Larkspur Book Club Events

The Larkspur Book Club is a low-stress, no commitment monthly event where we  read and discuss books with themes of death, grief, or nature in the cozy atmosphere of our library and learning center.

“I am holding both my hope and my grief together in the same hands. It is a loose hold, looser than I am accustomed to. My love is so much bigger than me.”This installment of the Larkspur Book Club will meet Thursday, February 26th, 2026 from 11am-12:30pm CST, and we will be reading , "What We Wish Were True" by Nashville's own beloved, Tallu Schulyer Quinn.This book includes profound essays on nurturing life while facing a terminal diagnosis, from the dedicated humanitarian and young mother creating “a vibrant legacy for us to hold on to and learn from” (Ann Patchett)How it works: for each edition of our book club we’re going to select one book we enjoy that engages themes of death, grief, or nature. We’ll announce the selection and give you time to read it before we meet in-person at the Larkspur Library for an enriching discussion.Participants will be responsible for purchasing their own copy of the book or borrowing from the Nashville Public Library prior to our event. The first 30 minutes of book club will be for tea, snacks, and mingling, then we will get settled and dive into a 1hr discussion of the book! Registration for this book club will be extremely limited, so make sure you reserve your seat early!
