Compass 101 is a beginner‑friendly workshop designed to help you feel confident navigating outdoors. You’ll learn how to read a compass, take bearings, orient a map, identify landmarks, and plan simple routes. Then you’ll practice your skills through fun outdoor navigation games.

This class is part of the MyOutdoorJoy Navigation Series, where Education + Adventure come together to build real‑world outdoor confidence.

• Identify and understand the parts of a compass
• Find your direction using a compass
• Take and follow bearings
• Create a simple route others can follow
• Work with a partner using compass techniques
• Understand when to use a compass vs. GPS
