Let's Glow For A Hike: A Firefly Walk Under The Stars

Join a Ranger, as we walk along a moderate to strenuous nature trail looking for firefly species and other night creatures. If we are lucky, we may see synchronous fireflies. Event suitable for ages 8 and up.

Did you know that fireflies are natural indicators of healthy ecosystems? We'll talk about their importance in nature, how to identify them, and what you can do to attract them to your back yard. You'll even learn how to signal your own name like a firefly using Morse code, and write your name like fireflies with glow in the dark paint using the braille alphabet. Limited spaces. One mile nature trail in a loop not suitable for strollers. Please bring a flashlight with red light, water and wear closed-toe shoes. Meeting location will be given once you register.
