Live at the White House: Old Town School of Folk Music's Lamajamal
Experience a night of vibrant global folk music with Lamajamal, in partnership with the Old Town School of Folk Music!
Join us for a vibrant night of global music with Lamajamal, a palindrome for the Arabic word "jamal," meaning beauty. This trio has been fusing the rich folk traditions of the Greater Middle East, South Asia and the Mediterranean since 2004. Come experience an evocative, deeply danceable journey featuring the mesmerizing sounds of Eve Monzingo on Greek sandouri (hammered dulcimer), flute and Turkish clarinet; Habib Wardak on the rubab, played across Afghanistan, Pakistan and Kashmir; and George Lawler on world percussion instruments and guitar. Don't miss this opportunity to experience world-class folk traditions from around the globe, right here in Barrington. This performance is in partnership with the Old Town School of Folk Music.
