Data Briefing and Action Forum to Prevent Pregnancy-Associated Deaths in Louisiana
Maternal mortality continues to be a public health crisis, especially in Louisiana.
In response, the Louisiana Maternal Mortality Prevention Symposium will bring together health care professionals, health care systems, social and local community organizations, policy makers, insurance payors, government and public health agencies, maternal health advocates, and families with one goal: to end preventable maternal deaths. Join the Bureau of Family Health as we examine the findings from the 2020-2022 Louisiana Pregnancy-Associated Mortality Review Report, discuss the key factors contributing to pregnancy-associated deaths, and share the key recommendations for prevention of these deaths.
Recommendations alone do not save lives – they require committed, coordinated action. Together, participants will discuss strategies to implement recommendations from the 2020-2022 Louisiana Pregnancy-Associated Mortality Review Report to drive change across systems and improve outcomes for women, families, and communities across Louisiana. By intentionally putting these recommendations into action, participants can build a culture of health in communities across our state, which leads to improved outcomes for mothers and families.
