Lovers Key Summer Camp: Young Florida Naturalists (Ages 8-12)

Become a Junior Naturalist and uncover the hidden wonders of Lovers Key State Park! Explore the park’s diverse coastal habitats, discover nature’s treasures, and learn about native plants and wildlife through exciting games and hands-on activities. Join us for a fun-filled adventure where curiosity leads to discovery!

About the Lead Instructor: Julia Sessa

Julia Sessa is a Florida native with a B.A. in Environmental Studies and four years of teaching experience in the Lee County School District, including two years at the high school level where she teaches IB and AP Environmental Science and is the schools main garden coordinator. Julia loves exploring Florida’s natural spaces, whether snorkeling, hiking, paddling, or adventuring with her pup, and she is passionate about helping others appreciate and care for the environment. Outside the classroom, she is also a professional circus artist, bringing the perfect mix of fun, creativity, and responsibly to this summer camp!

Time: 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Price: $300.00

Location: Welcome & Discovery Center at Lovers Key State Park

Need to Know:

• Each camper must arrive each day at camp with lunch, snack, water bottle, water shoes, extra pair of dry shoes, hat, backpack and sunscreen.
• Water bottles and backpacks should be labelled with camper's name.
• Campers are expected to respect themselves and others as well as park facilities, equipment, materials and property of others.
• Campers are expected to behave responsibly toward the park's wildlife, vegetation, waterways and habitats.
• Pickup and drop off is at the Welcome and Discovery Center inside Lovers Key State Park.
• Insect Repellent and first aid supplies will be provided by the camp.
• Campers will only be able to picked up by someone approved by the camper's parent or guardian.
• Registration fees fund the camp's operating expenses.
• Parents/ Guardians will receive a welcome letter the week before camp begins with addtional information on camp.
