We are working hard to bring Chicago its first Insect and Taxidermy Museum! Our focus is connecting to the beauty of nature in a non-traditional sense. During these events we will engage all of our senses to foster both  excitement and growth. At The Insect Asylum we encourage you to explore, as we do! Every time you walk through our doors we are hoping you  engage with the exhibits and develop a true sense of belonging with nature. Our mission is to allow people to get excited, to learn and to grow. We understand that inspiration takes flight in many forms. Come and get inspired, create, and connect with a beautiful community! Also, please keep in mind The Insect Asylum is a self-funded endeavor. This labor of love is ever growing, any and all funds we raise help us bring more to the community! Indulge in The Insect Asylum's Paint & Sip! BYOB, vintage taxidermy, live creature painting! This month we are painting our opossums, Hazel and Opal!

Stretch and Squeak: Yoga with Hazel the Opossum &amp; Elvis the Macaw Join us this month at The Insect Asylum for a one-of-a-kind animal yoga experience featuring Hazel, our gentle senior opossum, and Elvis, our ever-charming and chatty macaw. In this joyful blend of movement and nature, you’ll have the rare opportunity to practice yoga alongside two of our most beloved animal residents—furry and feathered alike.As you enter our cozy, nature-inspired studio, you'll be greeted by the soft rustle of feathers and the curious gaze of Hazel as she shuffles around. The session begins with a grounding meditation, inviting you to settle in and connect with the vibrant energy of the space. From there, our experienced yoga instructor will guide you through a gentle flow designed to support all skill levels—with poses that encourage deep breathing, mindful stretching, and quiet reflection.Throughout the class, Hazel may wander by for a sniff or a snuggle, while Elvis might serenade you from his perch. Their delightful personalities bring a sense of wonder and unpredictability to your practice, reminding us to stay present and open-hearted.Whether you're a seasoned yogi or just curious about trying something new, Stretch and Squeak offers a restorative experience that blends relaxation, play, and interspecies connection. Leave feeling stretched, soothed, and full of smiles—plus a little more attuned to the magic of the natural world.Preparation:<ul><li>What to Bring: Yoga mat, comfortable clothing, water bottle, and an open mind.</li><li>Arrival: Please arrive 15 minutes early to set up your space and prepare for the session.</li></ul>Whether you are new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner, this opossum-themed session offers an immersive experience, allowing you to reconnect with yourself and nature in a truly unique setting.Join us for a transformative journey at The Insect Asylum with Talia Sassounes, and embrace the rhythm of renewal.Tickets are nonrefundable but we are happy to make an exchange for a different event if you cannot make it.
