Montgomery County Juneteenth Celebration: 1:00PM-10:00PM

Living Legends Awards Celebration & Brunch: 11:00AM-1:00PM (limited tickets available, separate registration required)


Join us for a free official Montgomery County Juneteenth Festival filled with joy and community presented in partnership with the Office of Human Rights! Enjoy live concerts and performances, browse a bustling artisans market showcasing unique handmade goods, and savor delicious food from local vendors. The day will be packed with captivating performances and talks that celebrate the rich culture and history of Juneteenth. Bring your family and friends for an unforgettable day of music, creativity, and unity!

The day kicks off with The Annual Living Legends Awards Celebration & Brunch at 11AM (limited tickets available, separate registration required)

2:00PM Author talk with Whitney Parnell, author of “Breathing Out: Ruminations of a Millennial Black Woman” Whitney Parnell released her debut book this year. This raw and groundbreaking anti-racism declaration weaves in Parnell's narratives from years of activism, running a Black-led organization, and daily encounters in the world as a Black woman. Join her for an intimate discussion about Breathing Out, as she addresses the current cultural climate, and shares her theories for actively pursuing racial justice.

5:30 PM Poetry with Javon Rustin

7:00PM Performance by BlackRock Artist Michaela Harrison

8:30 PM: Robert Person – Roots & Reverence: Negro Spirituals that Shaped America

4:00 PM: Mu Nu Domestic Violence Panel.

5:30 PM: An Author Talk with D. Watkins, NYT best selling author of Black Boy Smile.

7:30 PM: Special performance from Soul in Motion African Dance.


Need a ride? Free Ride On Buses will operate every 30 minutes from Seneca Valley High School (lot on Wisteria Dr.) and Montgomery College Germantown (lot on Obersation Dr.) from 11AM to 12PM.
