Question 1

Where is the venue?

The ride will be held at Millbrook Trail Rides, 8078 Whitfield Rd, Newark IL 60541. There is plenty of free parking available.

Question 2

What time does the ride start?

Please arrive to the upper level of the barn to sign in by the start-time on your ticket. For safety reasons, we must begin the ride while there is still daylight. Late arrivals will not be accommodated and no refunds will be provided for late arrivals.

Question 3

What should I wear?

Accepted Answer

Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required. Cowboy boots are perfect if you have them. Your shoe must fit in a 5" wide stirrup so please do not wear wide work boots/steel toe boots. Gym shoes are okay for this ride.

Question 4

Do I need to wear a helmet?

Accepted Answer

Helmets are required for riders age 17 and younger. Riders over age 18 are encouraged to wear a helmet, but are not required to do so. Helmets in a variety of sizes are available for free to borrow at the barn for your ride.

Can I bring a non-riding guest to the bonfire?

Possibly. Please send a request for non-riding guests to saddlesnaps123@gmail.com.

What should I bring?

Accepted Answer

Each guest should bring a bag chair for the bonfire. Bug-spray is recommended. We recommend a small backpack or fanny pack for holding keys, phones, etc. Feel free to bring snacks and beverages for the bonfire.

Question 7

Do I need riding experience to participate?

Accepted Answer

Although this ride is safe for beginners, it is a more challenging ride and not recommended for first-time riders. If you've never ridden before, please book a daytime ride at www.millbrooktrailrides.com before signing up for a moonlight ride.

Question 8

What happens in case of inclement weather?

Accepted Answer

We will not ride if there is lightning, pouring rain, or high winds. You'll receive a refund to your original payment method through Eventbrite if a ride must be canceled for inclement weather. All riders will be notified three hours prior to the start time if we must cancel.

Question 9

What is the refund policy?

Accepted Answer

Refunds provided for inclement weather or cancelation by organizer only. Tickets may be resold but new purchaser must be made aware of all height/weight requirements. If you can't make it we may be able to reschedule your ride to a different date, but this is not guaranteed.

Question 10

Can my child participate on this ride?

Kids age 14 and up may  join with a riding parent or guardian *if* they have previously ridden a horse. Please reach out to saddlesnaps123@gmail.com for more details before purchasing a ticket for a child.
