Join us for a special Meet the Author &amp; Storytime event at the Children's Library at Detroit Public Library's Main Location featuring local author and shelter advocate Sue Valentine and her heartfelt book More Than a Stray. Drawing from her years of working with dogs at Detroit Animal Care and Control, Sue shares a moving story told through the eyes of a once-forgotten shelter dog—capturing fear, hope, kindness, and the joy of finding a forever home. Brought to life with soulful photographs taken by local children, this all-ages storytime celebrates compassion, resilience, and the powerful bond between people and animals.Come listen, connect, and be reminded that every dog has a story worth hearing.Enjoy a storytime and activity as well as an opportunity to read to a shelter dog!
