Nature Journaling at the Pratt Refuge

Nature Journaling at the Pratt Refuge

Pratt RefugeDuxbury, VT
Overview

Join us for an evening of observation and creativity as we learn to record the sights, sounds, and stories of the natural world.

Come join VLT and Vermont Coverts as we host veteran Nature Journal Keeper, Clare Walker Leslie at the Pratt Refuge (land donated to VLT by Coverts Cooperator Fred Pratt). You will learn simple ways to set up and keep your own seasonal nature journal with tips and tricks for both writing and drawing your nature observations. Nature journaling is a wonderful way to connect to the land and document your observations.

Bring: 8x11- or smaller- notebook or pad of (unlined) paper, a pencil (retractable leads are good), a fine-line pen (ball point are good). Other handy items (but we will have some on hand), colored pencils, field guide to local flora or fauna, and binoculars. All ages welcome. Please dress for the weather and remember to have water. We will finish around the fire ring with smores.
