Novato Baylands Bird Walk - June 2026

Novato Baylands Native Plant Nursery (Point Blue)Novato, CA
Overview

Join us for a fun morning of birding at a tidal wetland!

Bird and nature enthusiasts of all ages and abilities are welcome to join us on June 20th for an exciting morning of birding at the Novato Baylands (Hamilton Wetlands)! Anyone is welcome to join, including families with young children, small groups, those with no birding experience, and seasoned birders.

We will meet at 8:30 AM at Point Blue's Novato Baylands native plant nursery at 737 Aberdeen Rd, Novato, CA. We’ll then walk at a relaxed pace along the Bay Trail until 10:30 AM looking and listening for as many species of birds as we can find, along with other wildlife and special wetland plants. Some of the birds we might see include herons and egrets, hawks, American Avocets, Black-necked Stilts, and Snowy Plovers.

Spotting scopes, bird books, and brochures will be provided, along with snacks and access to a bathroom. We recommend bringing your own water bottle, binoculars, sun protection, layers, and comfortable walking shoes.

Come bird with us and learn about the special salt marsh ecosystem – we hope to see you there!
