In today’s hypercompetitive world, in which pay practices that favor one group or another can cause tremendous reputational damage, companies need to ensure that they are compensating their employees fairly. Accordingly, Total Rewards must go beyond the traditional ways of assessing pay. Our speaker and guest, <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/athar-siddiqee-a12a69b/" title="https://www.linkedin.com/in/athar-siddiqee-a12a69b/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Athar Siddiqee</a>, VP of Global Total Rewards, Micron Technology, a $30 billion high-tech firm with 45,000 employees. He has extensive experience in this field, having served in Total Rewards leadership positions over a 25-year career at Cisco, Synopsys, SanDisk, and Xilinx, including a 2-year international assignment in Bangalore. A lifelong Bay Area resident, Athar Siddiqee earned a bachelor’s degree from UCLA in Mathematics/Economics and an MBA from Santa Clara University. He is also a current member of the WorldatWork Executive Rewards Advisory Council and has taught professional courses at WorldatWork, UC Santa Cruz Extension, and San Jose State University for many years. Athar has even instructed in Spanish in Costa Rica and Mexico, meaning he has confused students in multiple languages.Finally, despite failing numerous times, Mr. Siddiqee continues to pursue his personal goal of becoming a stand-up comedian. He lives with his wife, son, and daughter in Sunnyvale, California, and even they don't think he's funny.
