Policy Pathways

Online event
Overview

Explore ways to bring science into policy discussions, and plan your path for getting involved.

Policy shapes public life in many ways, and often is a necessary part of lasting change. Accurate information is vital to good public policy, but often people’s understanding of policy pathways starts and stops at elections. Yet there are many, many more ways to get involved in public policy, at all levels of governance!

This workshop takes a closer look at the variety of roles that people can play in the policy process, with an emphasis on accurately communicating science and knowledge.

  • Learn about the many pathways for policy engagement
  • Identify policy pathways that align with your goals and strengths
  • Develop a plan for moving along a policy pathway you identify
  • Receive feedback on your plan

If you’ve ever wanted to contribute to your community in a deeper way, or to support evidence-based decision making in public policy, this is your opportunity to really explore the roles you can play and what you’d like to bring to the table!

By registering for this workshop, you are committing to active participation in the workshop, for the benefit of both yourself and the group. Please plan to use a webcam whenever possible during discussion and breakout room portions of the workshop. Due to the progression of materials presented and the activities, we cannot admit participants who are more than 15 minutes late. More information can be found in the FAQ page on our website.
