Mandy Greeris a multi-disciplinary artist who creates heightened narrative space through fiber-based installation, photography, performance, film and community-based action.She teaches her experimental approach tofiber workshops in her own Columbia City, Seattle-based studio.Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally at Centro di Cultura Contemporanea at Palazzo Strozzi, Florence, Italy; Cathedral St. John the Divine in NYC; Museum of Contemporary Craft, Portland, OR; Aqua Art Miami; Bellevue Arts Museum, Seattle Art Museum, Henry Art Gallery, and Frye Art Museum, Seattle, WA. Mandy has received numerous awards including the Arts Innovator Award from Artists Trust/The Dale and Leslie Chihuly Foundation and the prestigious Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Award. She has been featured and reviewed in many publications including the New York Times, Hi-Fructose Magazine, Redefine Magazine, Seattle Magazine and Art Ltd.Mandy Greer has an MFA from the University of Washington, and has taught clay, fiber and art in a broad spectrum of settings. She has taught as an adjunct professor at The University of Washington and The University of South Florida. She has taught school-aged and adult programs at The Frye Art Museum, Bellevue Art Museum, Seattle Art Museum, The Hudson River Museum and through Seattle Public Schools and Mercer Island School district. She has lectured and taught workshops at UW, Evergreen State University, Western Washington University and Emory University, and has designed and taught clay curriculum to teachers in Bellevue Public Schools.mandygreer.org

Now I’m opening up the studio and my huge stash of reclaimed fibers and yarns, so we can make wildly colorful and textural Pom Pom Garlands and Wall Hangings.</h3><h3> </h3><h3>Let’s step away from “pretty” or “cute” or “matchy-matchy” and instead go for some electric, sexy color combinations by experimenting with bold and unusual colors and textures you might not think go together, but create quite a buzz when they do!</h3><h3> </h3><h3>Let’s be bold and original and unique! Try something different and take some risks with our explorations of reclaimed materials and yarn.</h3><h3> </h3>

<h3>I’ll teach you a variety of patterns you can actually make on a Pom Pom like color blocking, checker, floral, nebula, confetti, polka dots. Cutting open Pom Poms gives you a little hit of dopamine, like opening a present! And folks usually gasp the first time!</h3><h3> </h3><h3>We’ll be crocheting basic chains from t-shirt yarn (don’t worry, I’ll teach you!) and making big tassels to go with our Poms. You can make a garland or a wall hanging in several different ways.</h3><h3> </h3><h3>It’s a big messy party, and you’re invited! Sure, you can make poms on your own, but come have access to my huge stash of materials, and I clean up all the mess so it’s not in your house!</h3><h3> </h3><h1>PLEASE READ FAQ BELOW BEFORE BOOKING.</h1><h3> </h3>

FAQs : Please Read! Class Minimum: Classes need 5 people minimum to run. So spread the word to friends! I'll let you know about a week before class if it is likely to be canceled or not, and a refund will be issued. If you want to have your class run, you need to invite friends along! Once the class has met minimum enrollment, I'll let you know. Don't wait until the last minute to register. AGE/ABILITY: Great for beginners to fiber arts, but does require pulling and wrapping very very tightly, which may irritate hands dealing with arthritis or other injury. Private Parties:Pom Pom Private Parties are available in my studio — Up to 12 people for 4hrs, for $750. I can also travel to your location with my tools materials, for $800 — within Seattle. Farther distances require additional mileage fee.
