Walk through different prairies and learn how to establish, maintain, and identify prairie species with local experts and host Peter Andre
Join us with hosts Peter and Gayle Andre and a panel of prairie experts for a free hands on walking tour of Andre Acres to learn about planting and maintaining a prairie. Peter will share his experiences of how he and his family transformed the landscape by planting 3 different prairies that now comprise almost 15 acres of enhanced habitat. Experts in prairie establishment, prescribed fire and prairie pollinator insects will be on hand to share knowledge and answer questions. The tour will include about 2 miles of walking. While we will be walking on trails throughout the tour, please be prepared to walk through tall grasses. Please dress for the weather and bring a water bottle. A limited number of rides may be arranged ahead of time for those who need mobility assistance.
