Clay Pit Ponds State Park Preserve is a 265-acre natural area near the southwest shore of Staten Island. The Interpretive Center offers the community free educational programs, cultural and natural history exhibits, and trail access.

Pride Events

Pack your own picnic and join us at Clay Pit Ponds Interpretive Center for an hour of lawn games and socializing followed by a guided hike in celebration of Pride Month. There will be cotton candy, popcorn, and an opportunity to meet our corn snake and box turtle! At 6:30pm we’ll lead an optional hike of the Rainbow Loop, a 2.5 mile loop which features sections of each of our northern trails. Event is BYOB – Bring Your Own Basket! Cold-picnics only, grills are not permitted in park. All ages welcome.WHEN: Thursday, June 5th. 5:30pm-8pm. Guided hike begins at 6:30pm.WHERE: Nature Interpretive Center. Please use our address to navigate to the park: 2351 Veterans Road West, Staten Island, NY 10309.All programs are free! Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. If we are sold out, feel free to walk up and see if we have open spots.Outdoor programs are subject to cancellation due to inclement weather, call for updates.
