PSNY BIPOC Free Verse Workshop: Writing Queer Erotic Poetry
Join us at August 2026's Free Verse Virtual Workshop for BIPOC Creatives with Ally Ang!
A free generative virtual workshop for BIPOC Creatives with poet Ally Ang!
In this workshop, we will dive headfirst into poetry exploring the sexual, sensual, and erotic, and unpack the messiness and shame that can come with writing about these subjects. With a theoretical grounding by Audre Lorde, we will read and discuss poems by Justin Chin, Luther Hughes, Torrin A. Greathouse, and Natasha Oladokun, and we will engage in generative writing exercises to write our own queer erotic poems.
About the instructor: Ally Ang is a gaysian poet & editor based in Seattle. They are the author of Let the Moon Wobble (Alice James Books 2025). Their work has appeared in The Rumpus, The Academy of American Poets' Poem-a-Day, The Seattle Met, and elsewhere. Ally is a National Endowment for the Arts fellow and a MacDowell fellow. Find them at allysonang.com or @TheOceanIsGay.
