Queer Birders Club June: Marine Park
Come find your flock with other nature loving queer folks for a monthly bird walk guided by experienced birder and naturalist, Kate Brown.
The Queer Birders Club is for queer birders of all abilities and experience levels. Whether you're a seasoned pro or this is your very first time birding, this is a safe space to be yourself, have fun, and get curious about birds with other nature-loving queer folks! Walks are always facilitated by queer naturalist and birder Kate Brown, who has over a decade of experience running birding and nature connection programs for folks of all ages. Bring your coffee, a donut, and anything you need to stay comfortable for the duration of our time outside. This area can be WINDY, so bringing along a sweater or windbreaker is recomended!
Where to Find Us: We will be meeting at the covered picnic pavillion at Marine Park, located at 100 Harris Avenue in Fairhaven. We will see what shorebirds we can find from the beach, then cross the train tracks and walk the very short trail to the heron rookery to spy on the juvenile herons in their nests!
The Queer Birders Club typically meets from 10-11:30am on the last Sunday of every month (with some exceptions for availability and holidays). Your generousity helps support us in purchasing binoculars and teaching materials for everyone to use and benefit from at our meet-ups!
