Overview
Join us as we visit10,000-year-old prairie populations and get acquainted with the history of our land.
Iowa has lost 99.9% of our original tallgrass prairie, which once covered approximately 30 million acres. Some of that remaining 0.1% can be found in small pieces of “remnant” prairie scattered along the Raccoon River Valley Trail. Join us as we visit some of these 10,000-year-old prairie populations and get acquainted with the history of our land.
We will meet on the RRVT near Dallas Center. Further details will be provided to registrants leading up to the day of the event.
