Volunteer are the Key!
Our volunteers spend hours collecting carelessly discarded trash and identifying hazards that are too large to move, all while using their own rafts or walking along the bank. They climb the steep slopes, wade into deep water, and work hard to bring unmanageable items into view so they can be properly disposed of. Often hot, though the water is low in August, it is their chance to make a substantial environmental impact on our local aquatic and riparian ecosystems.

The Colorado and Roaring Fork Rivers are vital resources to the landscape and economy of the City of Glenwood Springs and the region. Our river cleanup activity brings together community volunteers and sponsors to preserve these important aquatic ecosystems, all while demonstrating positive environmental stewardship.
