Explore Rose Bay at Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Preserve, and discover what fish and other creatures live there!
The Volusia County Explore Volusia program invites you to join Environmental Specialist Tommy Nordmann on a dip-netting adventure on Rose Bay at Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Preserve. We’ll use dip nets and seine nets to study the aquatic life living amongst the mangrove islands and oyster reefs in these salt marsh areas.
** Important note: Please arrive 15 minutes prior to complete a waiver. Waivers must be completed in full to participate in the program. Visit Explore Volusia to print and complete a waiver ahead of time.

ACTIVITY: dip-netting and seine-netting
RESERVATIONS: Required. Unless you have a confirmation email, you are not registered.
TICKETS: No printed ticket is necessary.
AGES: All ages are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
ATTIRE: closed-toe shoes that can get wet, a bathing suit or clothing that can get wet
WHAT TO BRING: water, bug spray, sunscreen, towel, and a dry change of clothes
FACILITIES: There is a port-a-let but no running water on site.
