What actually happens during the week?

Each gathering is woven around presence, prayer, and the Sacred Tea Ceremony, our anchor. Expect contemplative practice, ancestral honoring, gentle movement, shared silence, music, and tended space for grief and remembrance.

Question 3

I've never done ancestral or grief work. Will it be too intense?

Accepted Answer

The pacing is intentional. Nothing is forced. You are always invited, never pushed. This work is less about excavation and more about listening to what your body and your bloodline already know.

Question 4

What should I wear?

Accepted Answer

Soft, comfortable, layered clothing in earth tones or white. You'll be sitting on the floor or in low seating, so prioritize ease over presentation. Bring a wrap or shawl, the body cools when it softens.

What should I bring?

A journal and pen, a water bottle, and a small offering for the ancestral altar, a photo, flower, stone, or letter. Anything meaningful to you. Everything else is provided.

How should I prepare in the days before?

Slow down. Drink water. Eat lightly the day of. Reduce caffeine, alcohol, and screens if you can. Spend quiet time with a memory of someone in your lineage. Arrive a little emptier than usual, this work fills what it finds.

What time should I arrive?

Doors open 30 minutes before ceremony. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early. Once the ceremony opens, late entry disrupts the container and may not be possible. Give yourself the gift of unhurried arrival.

Where in DC is this held?

The exact location is shared privately with registered attendees to protect the sacred container. The venue is metro-accessible with nearby parking. Full directions arrive in your welcome email after registration.

What if I become emotional during the ceremony?

Emotion is welcome. Grief, joy, awe, tenderness, all of it belongs here. Trained space holders are present throughout. If you need to step away, breathe, or rest, you may do so without explanation.

Do I have to participate in everything?

Accepted Answer

No. Participation is always a choice. You can witness, rest, observe, or engage as deeply as feels right for your body that night. Your nervous system is the authority. We honor it.

Is this a social event? Will I have to talk to strangers?

This is a contemplative gathering, not a networking event. There are moments of shared connection, but most of the experience is inward. You can attend alone and feel fully held. Many do.

What about food and drink?

The Sacred Tea Ceremony is the central offering, a ceremonially prepared, non-intoxicating tea served with intention. If you have allergies or dietary needs, please share them during registration.

Can I attend if I'm pregnant, on medications, or have a health condition?

Yes, with awareness. Please disclose any health considerations during registration so we can support you well. If unsure whether ceremony is right for you, reach out before purchasing, we'll guide you honestly.

What integration support is offered after?

Accepted Answer

Each ceremony closes with grounding practices to help you return softly to daily life. You'll also receive reflection prompts and integration guidance by email. Remembrance continues long after the room empties.

Is this affiliated with a specific religion?

Temple Mother Earth honors the wisdom of many lineages without being bound to any single one. The work is rooted in earth-based reverence and contemplative practice. People of all faiths and none are welcome.

What's your refund policy?

Accepted Answer

Tickets are non-refundable but transferable up to 72 hours before the event. The ceremony is prepared in advance for a specific number of seats. If something arises, reach out, we lead with care, not policy.

I'm nervous. Is that normal?

Yes. Nerves often mean something inside you is paying attention. Your presence is already a yes. We'll take it from there, together.
