This event is suggested for adult audiences only, as content will not be censored, and explicit or mature topics may be explored. Note that we will create additional book clubs inclusive of other age groups; if you are interested in starting a book club, please reach out!

On Zoom, we will enable closed captioning and encourage use of virtual backgrounds. Please reach out if there are further accessibility features that we can offer to improve your experience.

How will you create safety?

We have reviewed all settings in Zoom in order to make these meetings as secure as possible. We have disabled recording for all meetings, and only meeting hosts are able to share their screens. The book club coordinator is able to manage and remove participants as necessary.

How can I protect my own privacy?

On Zoom, participants are able to control what name they display and whether or not they turn on their video. Please reach out if there are further steps we can take to make you feel safe/comfortable in this virtual space.

Do I need  a Zoom account to participate?

Yes. In order to keep the meeting as secure as possible we ask that all participants be signed into a Zoom account in order to join the meeting. If this presents a barrier to access please reach out to us at programming@qtlibrary.org and we will work with you to find a solution.

Do I need to have read/finished the book in order to participate?

Nope! Reading/finishing the book is not required to participate, although the discussion may contain spoilers!

The Sapphic Sci-Fi & Fantasy Book Club typically meets on the third Tuesday or Wednesday of every other month.

How will future reading materials be selected?

Participants in attendance at each book club will be able to vote to determine the next selection.
