Rocky Mountain Conservancy's Education Team directly supports the organization's mission by offering a wide range of educational opportunities, focused on building a love of wild places and inspiring people to act to preserve them. Educational offerings include half-day, full-day, and multi-day adult programs led by expert instructors, as well as scenic ecology bus tours for the whole family, guided hikes, and special programs just for kids and families.

Photography and fine art courses, for beginners and beyond! These course range from 1 to 3 days in length and feature world-class instructors and the ever-inspiring grandeur of Rocky Mountain National Park.

Field Institute

Our signature program, Field Institute courses offer an in-depth learning experience across a wide range of Rocky Mountain specialties and are led by our most knowledgeable instructors. Park transportation, fees, and permits are included.

Through instruction, demonstrations, and free exploration time, you will learn to capture the beauty around you. During the morning in the classroom, participants will learn (or sharpen) some basic sketching and observation skills and then head out to practice these skills in a specific location in the Park. We will learn different approaches that will include simple sketches with pencil, ink, colored pencils and watercolor. Beginners are welcome and encouraged.Who: This age 16 and up workshop is ideal for…<ul><li>Journal-keepers who want to add illustrations to their writing,</li><li>Artists who want to fill their sketchbooks,</li><li>Gardeners and naturalists who want to learn more about the world around them,</li><li>Travelers who want to record their journeys, and</li><li>Dreamers, scientists, observers, recorders, or anyone else who wants to improve (or acquire!) skills in all these categories.</li></ul>This is a Level II course. A graduate of the Colorado Institute of Art – Denver, she continues learning and has studied under some of her favorite artists.
