Closing reception for Smell The Flowers by Kari Blak
This art exhibition showcases the work of contemporary visual artist, muralist, designer, and illustrator Kari Blak, alongside his brand, Petalhead. This exhibit delves into the unique universe Kari has created, utilizing character and storytelling to address a variety of pressing environmental issues, including sea level rise, flooding, habitat loss, plastic pollution, and wildfires. Through a captivating series, Kari introduces audiences to his main characters: Taru, a flower, and Miel, a bumblebee.
These figures invite viewers into their world and foster important dialogue about the urgent climate crisis we face. The exhibition features three distinct design series, Petalhead's first adult collectable / 3D figure, and a new T-shirt, among other works.
