At 2,200 acres, Freshkills Park will be almost three times the size of Central Park and the largest park developed in New York City in over 100 years. Free tours offer insights into ongoing development and unmatched views, and recreational programs provide opportunities to experience the hills and waterways before the park officially opens.

Join the Freshkills Park Alliance and NYC Parks for a volunteer day at our Studio + Gallery located off the New Springville Greenway and discover ways to get creative in our green spaces and support the bees! Ages 16+L﻿ocation: Outdoors at 2240 Richmond Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10314Transportation: The site is accessible by car or the S44, S59, and S94 buses at the Richmond Ave/Travis Ave and Richmond Ave/Draper Pl S stops.Accessibility: The Studio + Gallery is not currently ADA accessible. Plan Ahead: Wear long pants, close-toed shoes, and insect repellant. Also wear a hat and bring water and a snack. Tools, gloves, masks, and sanitizer will be provided. Do not attend if you are sick or have been exposed to COVID-19.Can&#x27;t make it?  You can still help by promoting our volunteer projects with your friends and neighbors. Students can receive credit for community service hours.  We will also be adding more volunteer opportunities as the season continues.
