Stewardship Saturday at the Wildlife Refuge

Containing almost 30,000 acres of estuarine habitat, uplands, open water, mudflats, salt ponds, and salt marshes, including much of southern San Francisco Bay, Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge provides habitat for many wildlife.  Its purpose is to protect wildlife habitat for endangered species and migratory birds, and to offer opportunities for nature study. The Visitor Center and Nature Store in Fremont, is open on Saturdays from 10 AM to 2 PM.Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refugeis part of the San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge Complex and is administered by the US Fish & Wildlife Service. TheSan Francisco Bay Wildlife Societyis a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) Friends group supporting the education, interpretation, and research activities of San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuges.

This in-person event will involve various hands-on activities to help maintain and improve the wildlife habitat. Whether you're a nature enthusiast or just looking for a way to make a positive impact, this event is perfect for all ages and skill levels. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with nature and contribute to the preservation of our beautiful wildlife refuge!Activities will consist of invasive plant removal and/or trash pick-up. All suplies will be provided, but we encourage you to bring your own gloves. Wear sun protection, sturdy close toed shoes, and wear layers.
