Stewardship Workday: Invasive Plant Removal at Rocky Branch!

Meeting location: 4718 Seterra Bend, Durham. Look for a white Ford pickup truck in a short gravel driveway when you arrive. You can park behind the truck or along the roadside on Seterra Bend, but please be sure not to block driveways.

What to bring: A water bottle, closed-toed shoes, and clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Feel free to bring your favorite work gloves, bug spray, sunscreen, or tools!

What we bring: Extra water, bug spray, sunscreen, breakfast, granola bars, work gloves, and all the tools and equipment you'll need! If you'd like to make a donation to help cover the cost of these items, you can do so at this link.

What we'll be doing: Removing invasive privet and Callery pear by uprooting it or cutting the stems and treating them with herbicide in reforestation areas. We may also hand-pull some Japanese stiltgrass to keep our seedlings from getting overrun. We welcome new volunteers!

Qúe haremos: Sacar ligustro y peral Callery invasores por arrancarlos o cortar los tallos y tratarlos con herbicída en las areas de reforestación. Posiblemente sacaríamos de hierba zancuda japonesa por mano para guardar nuestras plantónes contra estar saturadas. ¡Damos la bienvenida a voluntarios nuevos!
