Join CU Anschutz Health and Wellness Center's Assistant Professor and Licensed Psychologist, Dr. Liz Chamberlain to learn evidence-supported, hands-on tools and strategies to support the habits that can contribute to success in managing weight.

All workshops will be held virtually via Zoom from 4-5 p.m. on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. 15 minutes for Q&As will also be available for participants.

Snaccidents and How to Tame Them: Mindless Eating Workshop

Dates: Nov. 11, 2025; Feb. 10, 2026; May 12, 2026; Aug. 11, 2026; Nov. 10, 2026

Ever suddenly found yourself eating a whole bag of chips without realizing it? You’re not alone! Join our workshop to identify your personal mindless eating habits and identify new strategies to stop snaccidents before they happen.


Stress Eating Workshop: Alternatives to Notice and Manage Difficult Experiences

Dates: Dec. 9, 2025; March 10, 2026; June 9, 2026; Sept. 8, 2026; Dec. 8, 2026

Participants will learn new strategies to notice and approach stressful feelings and thoughts and discover other solutions than food to soothe.


Hacking Habits Workshop: Finding Real Ways to Get Your Reward

Dates: Jan. 13, 2026; April 14, 2026; July 14, 2026; Oct. 13, 2026

Have you ever noticed that empty feeling after indulging a craving? Many times, we eat for reasons other than hunger without really knowing what reward we are truly seeking. Participants will explore their own habit patterns and will learn to identify triggers and rewards and generate alternatives to overeating.


About Dr. Liz Chamberlain:

Dr. Liz Chamberlain is a Licensed Psychologist in clinical practice for 20 years, Assistant Professor and Faculty Wellness Officer in the Department of Psychiatry, and has been with the CU Anschutz Health and Wellness Center since 2016. She has conducted many Practical Mindfulness workshops and talks at the center and is currently the Center's Director of Well-Being Programs. Dr. Liz grew up in Scottsdale and Grand Junction, earned her BA in English and Psychology from The University of Michigan in 1991, and after a short career in advertising and marketing, graduated with her PhD in Counseling Psychology from The University of North Texas in 2003. Dr. Liz also holds the title of 2nd place in the 2013 Denver Post Peeps Diorama contest!


This workshop is intended for individual participants seeking personal growth and guidance. It is not designed for group participation, broadcast purposes, or integration into other programs. We kindly ask that attendees honor the personal nature of this session to ensure a meaningful experience for all participants.
