Studying The Cards tarot club

Studying The Cards tarot club

Overview

A monthly tarot club where we talk about specific cards, do a spread with your deck, and discuss what tarot means in our personal worlds.

A new way to understand your life and the magic within.

Come join our newest monthly club, Studying The Tarot. Similar to the book clubs in our store, this monthly meet-up will consist of discussion, featured decks and books, and a prompting to attend monthly to maximize your own growth within.

Tarot club is a great place for those who have never tried tarot and those who have been doing it for a while. Learning from others' experiences is one of the best ways to enhance your knowledge, especially with something as daunting as a 78 card deck. This club is free of judgement or stigma of what tarot "should be."

What you can expect:

  • Brief intro's including pronouns and what deck you brought to use
  • A short discussion on a specific pre-chosen card or two
  • A display of a deck sold by the store so you can see all the cards inside
  • Silent reading time where we will all use our own decks and pull for the same structured tarot spread provided with time for self study and journaling
  • Open discussion on what we pulled including asking questions for interpretations from others

What you should bring:

  • A tarot deck. Doesn't have to be queer focused, whatever deck you wish to learn more from or about.
  • Notebook/journal for self-study
  • An open mind and heart

This tarot club is hosted by Summer Falkenrath (they/them), a queer individual who has used tarot as a way to connect with themselves, process past religious trauma, and take a step back from personal issues to look at things with a wider lens. They by no means consider themselves an expert in tarot reading and absolutely feel they are learning along with you despite their 3+ years of experience using the cards in their life. They truly believe you can never stop learning, especially within groups of like minded individuals.

RSVP is encouraged to help gauge attendance and space.

This venue is wheelchair accessible and masks are provided and required. ASL interpretation can be provided with 2 weeks advance notice. Please don't hesitate to reach out to Under the Umbrella for any accessibility requests.
