If you’d like to support communal snacks, ice, and supplies, you’re welcome to make an optional Community Care Contribution during registration. No pressure, no expectation.

Where exactly are we meeting?

What time should I arrive?

The event begins at 10 a.m.  
Arriving between 9:45–10:15 a.m. helps with parking and gives you time to settle in without rushing.

Question 4

Is there parking?

Accepted Answer

Yes — Sandy Hook has large parking lots.
On Fridays, parking rarely fills before midday, so a 10 a.m. arrival is perfect.

Parking is $20 per car (unless you arrive before 8 a.m., when it’s free).
Carpooling is encouraged.

What should I bring?

Beach blanket or chair
Sunscreen + water
Something red to wear or place on your blanket (swimsuit, scarf, fruit, drink, towel, etc.)
Snacks or a red-themed picnic item (optional but encouraged!)
A journal, book, or anything that helps you rest
Beach games or cards
A cooler if you want cold drinks

Why are we wearing/bringing something red?

Red is a traditional Juneteenth color symbolizing resilience, vitality, and liberation.
Wearing or bringing something red is a simple, beautiful way to honor the day together.

Are there bathrooms?

Yes — Sandy Hook has restrooms and portable toilets near the beach areas.
Facilities vary by beach, but Beach D/E typically have the most amenities.

Are there food options?

Accepted Answer

Yes — food trucks operate in-season, and there are small concessions within the park.
You’re also welcome to bring your own picnic or snacks.

Delivery drivers cannot enter the park, but you can meet them at the entrance or parking lots if needed.

Can I bring alcohol?

No — alcohol is not permitted on Sandy Hook beaches.

Question 10

Can I bring my dog?

Accepted Answer

No — pets are not allowed on oceanside beaches from March 15 to September 15.

Question 11

Do I need to sign a waiver?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All participants must read and sign the Camping Noire Release Agreement (https://bit.ly/2026CNParticipantWaiver) before arrival. If you choose not to sign, you will not be permitted to join the hike. This applies to all attendees, including members, guests, and the general public.

Can I pay without Eventbrite fees?

Yes. To bypass Eventbrite fees:
- Complete the Eventbrite registration form.
- Enter promo code 3RDPARTYPAYEE at checkout.
- Submit the payment via CashApp: $CampingNoire.
Please note: We do not follow up for incomplete payments. Final hike details will only be sent to fully registered participants.

Is this event kid-friendly?

Yes — children are welcome with their adults.
Please keep in mind this is a soft, rest-centered gathering.

What if it rains?

If the weather looks questionable, we’ll send an update the evening before.
Light clouds won’t stop us, but thunderstorms will.

Think: lounging, floating, reading, music, laughter, a Freedom Toast, and a Juneteenth moment that feels communal and grounded.

Can I bring something for the Communal Beach Spread?

Absolutely — if you’d like to contribute to our communal shared beach spread, bring a small red-themed snack or drink. Totally optional, always appreciated.
