A joyful series of seasonal outdoor experiences for Black women to unwind, connect, and play in nature — from beach days to bonfires to water adventures.

<h1>🌞 <strong><strong>Summer Soulstice Beach Hooky Day: Juneteenth Edition</strong></strong></h1><h3>A Freedom Day at the Shore</h3><p><strong><strong>Take the day off. Touch the water. Celebrate freedom.</strong></strong>  <br>This year, we’re bringing our annual Summer Soulstice Beach Hooky Day to <strong><strong>Sandy Hook</strong></strong> — and weaving in the joy, rest, and lineage of <strong><strong>Juneteenth</strong></strong>.</p><p>This is a soft, spacious, communal day outside. No heavy programming. No rushing. No overworking. Just Black joy, sun, shoreline, and a little bit of ceremony to honor how far we’ve come and the freedom we continue to claim.</p><p>Come solo, bring your besties, or gather your whole crew.<br>Just show up ready to breathe, laugh, lounge, and be free.</p><h2>🌺 <strong><strong>What to Expect</strong></strong></h2><ul><li>A relaxed, come-as-you-are beach day</li><li>A red-themed Juneteenth moment — <strong><strong>we invite everyone to wear or bring something red</strong></strong> as a nod to the traditions of resilience, vitality, and liberation</li><li>A short <strong><strong>Freedom Toast</strong></strong> + reflection circle</li><li>Music, games, and soft joy</li><li>Space to nap, read, float, journal, or simply exist</li><li>A “family reunion” style group photo</li><li>Food trucks on-site + the option to bring your own picnic</li></ul><p>This is not a cookout. The cost of your ticket includes your beach access and wristband for the day.</p><p><br></p><h3>Will food be provided?</h3><p>Camping Noire will not provide food, but we will provide snacks, water, and an adult beverage option. In the meantime, we encourage our community to patronize the local black-owned Asbury Park shops &amp; eateries.</p><h3><br></h3><h3>Can my kids come?</h3><p>Absolutely, children up to the age of 13 years old are free to attend. Children 13 and up must be registered to ensure a beach access wristband is available for them.</p><h3><br></h3><h3>Are pets allowed?</h3><p>Asbury Park has a strict no-pets policy, but service animals are allowed.</p><h3><br></h3><h3>What if it rains?</h3><p>We will monitor the weather, and should there be an inclement weather threat, we will communicate updates via Eventbrite. In the event of inclement weather, the primary rain date will be Saturday, June 21st.</p><h3><br></h3><h3>Where should I park?</h3><p>Plenty of metered parking is available in the area, and the rates are $3/hr. Parking lots are also within walking distance and average $10-15 daily rates.</p><h3><br></h3><h3>Will tickets be sold at the event?</h3><p>No, all tickets must be purchased in advance via online ticketing, but mainly because we need to keep a tight headcount before a beach permit is required.</p><p><br></p><h3>Are alcoholic beverages permitted?</h3><p>According to local ordinances, it is illegal to possess alcohol on the beach. However, if alcohol vendors or sponsors are advertised by Camping Noire as approved for the event, it’s all good. However, please know that the Asbury Park beach patrol will be present on the beach, and citations can carry hefty fines and even jail time if these guidelines are not abided by, so drink at your own risk, boo.</p><p><br></p><h3>Can I smoke?</h3><p>No, the state of New Jersey prohibits using smoking products or devices in parks and beaches. Biking is allowed up until 10:00 AM.</p><p><br></p><h3>Is there a dress code?</h3><p>Technically, there is no dress code, but remember this is a family-friendly event, and the babies don’t need to see errythang!</p><p><br></p><h3>Can I sell my goods?</h3><p>We want to support every sister-owned business, and if you wish to vend at any Camping Noire event, contact us for a vendor application. Until we approve your vendor application, we ask that you do not attend with the intent to vend. All patrons vending without approval will be asked to leave and not receive a refund.</p><p><br></p><h3>Can I bring food or cook on the beach?</h3><p>While pre-packaged food is allowed, any heating, cooking, or food preparation devices are strictly prohibited. And keep in mind that food vendors are within walking distance on the Asbury Park Boardwalk, so leave the cooking at home!</p><p><br></p><h3>Can I come alone?</h3><p>You are more than welcome to come on your own. In fact, we encourage it! The Camping Noire sisterhood is a circle of dope womxn, and there will be plenty of opportunities to form new friendships!</p><p><br></p><h3>Is this event wheelchair accessible?</h3><p>Yes! Asbury Park Beach provides beach wheelchairs and ramps to ensure everyone can access the beach.</p><p><br></p><h3>Are there alternate payment options?</h3><p>To bypass the Eventbrite fees, complete the event registration form here on Eventbrite, enter "3RDPARTYPAYEE" as the promo code during checkout, and submit. From there, proceed to CashApp to complete the payment ($CampingNoire).
