Overview

A full-day course giving law enforcement supervisors the tools to lead, manage, and document with confidence from day one.

Most law enforcement supervisors were promoted because they were outstanding officers. What they rarely received was formal training on how to lead, manage personnel, apply discipline, and document decisions in a way that protects their officers and their agency.

Supervisor Academy: Leadership Essentials for Law Enforcement is a full-day live online course that fills that gap. Through practical instruction, real-world law enforcement scenarios, and open peer discussion, participants will build the foundational skills and confidence every supervisor needs, whether they are stepping into the role for the first time or looking to strengthen the skills they have been developing for years.

What You Will Learn

  • How to understand and apply policies, procedures, case law, and statutes relevant to the supervisory role
  • How to conduct effective performance evaluations including review of reports, camera footage, and field activity
  • How to manage a wide range of employee issues including injuries, accidents, misconduct, difficult personalities, and recognition of outstanding performance
  • How to strengthen communication skills at every level: with staff, the public, and up the chain of command
  • How to apply progressive discipline and document effectively to protect both the supervisor and the agency
  • How to lead ethically and confidently in day-to-day operations and during critical incidents
  • How to mentor and develop team members while maintaining accountability and professional standards

Who Should Attend

This training is designed for sworn law enforcement personnel who are currently serving in a supervisory role or preparing to transition into one. It is especially valuable for newly promoted supervisors building their foundational skill set, experienced supervisors looking to sharpen communication, documentation, and management skills, and command staff seeking a structured development resource for their supervisory personnel.
