Tamale and Mariachi FestivalCome join us for the annual Tamale and Mariachi Festival in Las Vegas! Get ready for a day filled with delicious tamales and vibrant mariachi music. This in-person event will take place on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 401 S. 4th St.Held outdoors on Centennial Plaza at The Historic Fifth Street School in downtown Las Vegas, the festival offers the community an abundance of tamale varieties from all over Latin America. Festival admission is free and open to the public. A variety of vendors will sell refreshments. <h3>Food &amp; Drinks</h3>Festival goers will enjoy live mariachi music, Mexican antojitos, and a host of artisan vendors. Kick off the holiday season with great authentic tamales by some of Las Vegas' best chefs. La Bonita Supermarkets will lead a community tamalada where you can learn to make your own tamal. The SerVehZah Bottle Shop and Tap Room will offer delicious brews and beverages for sale. With arts and crafts activities available for the kids, there will be much for the whole family to enjoy. <h3>Live Mariachi</h3>The entertainment will include five different mariachi bands, including the three-time Grammy Award-winning Mariachi Los Camperos. Acclaimed by audiences at the Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center and other major U.S. venues, their skillfully arranged versions of classic mariachi tunes, blended with regional styles of traditional music, are a delight to ears nationwide. Other entertainers include Grammy Award winner Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea, Mariachi Alma del Sol, Edwin Origel Méndez, Mariachi de Canyon Springs and Mariachi Acero. <h3>Parking &amp; Street Closures</h3>Parking will be available in the City Centre covered parking garage, accessible from Third Street/Clark Avenue. Fourth Street will be closed all day between Clark and Lewis avenues starting at 6 a.m. Dec. 2 to allow additional space for the festival. Other downtown streets will be closed 5 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 2 for the Las Vegas Great Santa Run, including most streets from Carson Avenue to Hoover Avenue and from Third to Tenth streets; that includes Las Vegas Boulevard from Bridger Avenue to Hoover.
