Welcome to The Black Neighborhood!!The Black Neighborhood (TBN) is a community-driven organization dedicated to advancing health equity and fostering resilience within Black communities. We focus on mental health, physical well-being, and community engagement, with a particular emphasis on empowering youth and families by addressing systemic inequities.Our Mindfulness Hikes are part of our "We Black Outside" Movement, designed to create genuine opportunities for people to connect with nature, practice mindfulness, and promote wellness together. These spaces offer healing, connection, and community-building through shared experiences in nature. Hiking Info:<ul><li>This hike is considered easy (kids &amp; dogs are welcome).</li><li>Easy is still very much a hike: rocky terrain, narrow pathways, and a few uphill sections.</li></ul>Highlights:<ul><li>Explore the park's diverse ecosystems, including redwood groves and oak woodlands.</li><li>Enjoy a leisurely pace suitable for all fitness levels.</li><li>Experience the natural beauty of Oakland's urban oasis.</li></ul>What to Bring:<ul><li>Comfortable hiking shoes</li><li>Water</li><li>Snacks (optional)</li><li>Weather-appropriate clothing</li></ul>Notes:<ul><li>Hike will begin promptly at 9:00am.</li><li>Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash.</li><li>Please check the weather forecast before the hike and dress accordingly.</li><li>The address leads to the parking lot where we meet.
