Welcome to The Black Neighborhood!!The Black Neighborhood (TBN) is a community-driven organization dedicated to advancing health equity and fostering resilience within Black communities. We focus on mental health, physical well-being, and community engagement, with a particular emphasis on empowering youth and families by addressing systemic inequities.Our Mindfulness Hikes are part of our "We Black Outside" Movement, designed to create genuine opportunities for people to connect with nature, practice mindfulness, and promote wellness together. These spaces offer healing, connection, and community-building through shared experiences in nature. <h2>Hiking Info:</h2><ul><li>Hike Name: TBN Hike #48 (Extreme)</li><li>Date &amp; Time: Sunday, September 21st | 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM (approx. 5 hours)</li><li>Distance: 7 miles</li><li>Trail: Dipsea Trail • Steep Ravine Trail (detour in effect) • Matt Davis Loop</li><li>Meeting Point: Stinson Beach Parking – 10 Marine Way, Stinson Beach, CA 94970</li></ul> <h2>Difficulty:</h2><ul><li>This hike is rated Extreme due to steep elevation gains, rugged and technical terrain, and a sustained pace.</li><li>Expect intense uphill climbs, switchbacks, and challenging descents.</li><li>Not kid-friendly. Adults only.</li><li>No dogs allowed.</li></ul> <h2>Highlights:</h2><ul><li>Conquer one of the Bay Area’s most iconic loops: Dipsea → Steep Ravine (detour) → Matt Davis Trail.</li><li>Trek through redwood canyons, cross wooden bridges, climb ravines, and finish with panoramic ocean views.</li><li>Build endurance and resilience alongside a powerful, supportive community.</li></ul> <h2>What to Bring:</h2><ul><li>Sturdy hiking boots with traction and ankle support (required for this terrain).</li><li>Plenty of water (hydration pack encouraged).</li><li>High-energy snacks or light lunch.</li><li>Weather-ready layers (fog, sun, and wind are all possible on Mt. Tam).</li><li>Backpack stocked with essentials (first aid, electrolytes, sunscreen, etc.).</li></ul> <h2>Notes:</h2><ul><li>The hike will begin promptly at 9:00 AM — please arrive early to park and prepare.</li><li>Steep Ravine Trail is currently closed due to unsafe conditions.
