2-Day Visiting Artist WorkshopDates &amp; Times:<ul><li>Saturday, February 10, 2024 - 10am-5pm</li><li>Sunday, February 11, 2024 - 10am-5pm</li></ul>Description: In this class, you will learn how to safely use simple hand tools such as rasps, files, carving gouges, hammer and stamps to create surface textures and chip-carving patterns. We will also learn how to use milk-paint for various colorations and learn sophisticated sanding and finishing techniques on wood. By the end of the class, we will turn your many small sample pieces into functioning knobs like drawer pull knobs, coat hanger knobs or, wall hanging decorations and magnets.Tuition: $225 + $30 materials feeMaterials: All materials will be providedLocation: Contemporary Craft (5645 Butler St., Pittsburgh, PA 15201)Visiting Artist Cancellations and Refunds: Workshop cancellations are decided one week before the start date. If workshops must be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, the entire class fee will be refunded through Eventbrite, or you may leave your workshop fee in your Contemporary Craft account for future workshops.Visiting Artist Refund Policy: Student refund requests must be made at 2 weeks before a class begins. There will be a $50 cancellation fee. About the ArtistKeunho Peter Park is a multi-cultural artist, woodworker, furniture designer/maker, and instrument maker who teaches woodworking in Philadelphia. He holds a B.F.A in painting from South Korea’s Kookmin University and a 2013 M.F.A. in Woodworking and Furniture Design from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Among other honors, Peter won a 2015 Wharton Esherick award at the Philadelphia Museum of Art craft show and won a First-time in show award at the Smithsonian Craft Show 2022.
