On Sunday, November 29, The Oakland Greens invite you for a FREE night of Food, Politics & Laughter.

The Oakland Greens have expanded their last Sunday of the month movie nights with the first November Free Dinner & a Show, “Just Try & Make Me Laugh.

In these times, it feels like just finding humor in the absurdity is a radical act. (Like Non-Monogamy) The Oakland Greens, our small all-volunteer social justice group, is lucky enough to have a long-time event production stagehand as our “Event & Fundraising Coordinator”. They are lucky enough to know a former co-worker, online acquaintance, new crush, former crush, and friend of a family member who are all established Stand-Up Comedians. (You can try & guess who is who)

The Line Up

Your Headliner Confirmed Danielle Arce

Danielle Arce is an experienced stand-up comedian of over 15 years. She has since performed all over the country, from New York to Los Angeles to Hawaii and everywhere in between. She has also performed overseas, including for the US Troops in Japan. She's Latina, bisexual, a toddler mom, a stepmom, and is happily married to another stand-up comedian. She is also the co-host of the Secret Minorities Podcast, which can be found anywhere podcasts are streamed! She was featured in an episode of "To Tell the Truth" on ABC & Hulu in 2021 and has been a featured comedian in comedy festivals, including Phoenix, New York, and Sacramento. She regularly headlines up and down the West Coast. She's known for her quick-witted humor, joking about her very unique life.

Cici Chavez Confirmed - Cici is an emerging comic in the Bay Area. She is a pluviophile who loves dry humor and lemon meringue pie.

Lael Gold Confirmed - After being prompted to start stand up by the likes of Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, Amy Poehler, Larry David and Harpo Marx---in her nighttime dreams---Lael Gold took to the stage like a non-biodegradable plastic bag to water and has not looked back. Bay Area based, Lael has joked--and toyed--with audiences on both coasts and sometimes in the middle. She co-hosted the monthly Planet Mirth showcase in Oakland and the LOLbotomy Show in Berkeley. As part of the Under the Influence series in San Francisco, Lael performed work inspired by John Belushi. At Cultivated Wit's Comedy Hack Day, her uproarious app idea was selected for production. Lael used to teach literature, film and writing at UC Berkeley. When not at a microphone, she runs the dream business Productive Slumber, which serves writers, filmmakers, and everyone who sleeps.
