Beyond the Beach

The "Beyond the Beach" Series highlights events where we explore further inland, trading in picturesque beaches for oak-filled hammocks or sprawling pine flatwoods. Join us on one of these hikes to discover the wilder side of Martin County.

Join Explore Natural Martin and a featured local partner on one of these unique collaborative events!  Whether hearing from a knowledgeable topic specialist or discovering new natural areas, these events allow us to reach new levels of exploration!

Tortoises, turtles and terrapins- oh my! On the eve of National Gopher Tortoise Day, we will embark on a scenic nature walk to learn about the mysterious and interesting lives of these iconic animals, as well as conservation and management efforts aimed to sustain them. For this walk we will be joined by a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission tortoise specialist! Don't miss out!
