The Viola Homestead Tour: A Peaceful Atlanta Summer Garden Experience

Looking for a peaceful Atlanta summer experience during sports season? Step away from the crowds and into The Viola Homestead, an intimate urban garden tucked within the city.

Come experience The Viola Homestead Tour, a small-group gathering where gardening, seasonal living, and practical food knowledge come together. Over 90 minutes, we’ll walk through an active urban homestead, explore what’s growing, and discuss real-life strategies for small-space and container gardening. When the season allows, we’ll also engage in light hands-on learning.

In just three years, this space has transformed from mostly grass to approximately 90% plant-covered — a living example of what’s possible with intention, creativity, and care. As nature allows, you’ll have opportunities to touch, smell, and occasionally taste what’s in season. Each participant will leave with a plant or seeds of their choosing.

This intimate, relaxed tour is designed for conversation, curiosity, and connection to the land — right here in the city. Tours are held outdoors and may be rescheduled in the case of severe weather. Light rain may proceed with adjustments. Raincoat, umbrella, boots, or hat recommended.
