Trailblazers: Caldwell Woods Fall Foliage Walk

We unite people to protect, promote, and care for the forest preserves in Cook County. Founded in 1998 by a small group of concerned citizens, Friends is now a force of thousands of committed volunteers and members. Through political advocacy, ecological restoration, and community engagement, we ensure the forest preserves will always be a source of recreation and relaxation.

Friends of the Forest Preserves Trailblazers Hikes

The group will walk through Caldwell Woods and cross over the river to reach Bunker Hill Woods. From there we'll walk the paved path while enjoying fall colors and spotting a mushroom or two along the way. Difficulty level: The walk will be primarily on paved paths and move at a moderate pace. As a certified seed collector she gathers and sows native seeds in conjunction with the North Branch Restoration Project. An avid hiker, she has formed and led fitness/walking groups for 10+ years.
