The Friends of the Fells need volunteers to help in a wide variety of ways. Check out these events to get involved as a volunteer today!

What will you do?Pick up and remove trash and litter. Sorting activities are also available for folks who'd like to separate recycling from trash. Suitable for ages 8 and up.This event will be held at the Flynn Rink parking lot at 300 Elm St, Medford.Please bring a hat, sunscreen, bug spray, your own reusable water bottle, and a snack, if you would like one. We recommend wearing sturdy shoes, warm gloves, long sleeves, long socks, layers, and pants to help prevent poison ivy or tick exposure. Traction for shoes (microspikes or crampons) is also recommended when snow is present.Please note, there are no restrooms at this site.Light work gloves and trash grabbers will be provided. Please feel free to bring personal gloves and/or trash grabbers if you would like.This program is a part of the <a href="https://www.mass.gov/guides/be-kind-massachusetts" title="https://www.mass.gov/guides/be-kind-massachusetts" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Be Kind!</a> initiative to give back to the park and protect the Fells for our human and wildlife users.<ul><li>Listen for other people on trails and make space to pass</li><li>Keep dogs leashed outside of designated off-leash areas</li><li>Leave no trace of litter or waste</li><li>Stay on trails - on foot, paw, or bike</li></ul>Questions?Please reach out to maddie.morgan@fells.org if you have any questions.Dogs: While we love experiencing the outdoors with our dogs, this program is not suitable for dogs.
