Utah’s Progress Report on America’s Anniversary
Join us for lunch as we discuss the state of the state. How does Utah compare?
The bipartisan State of the Nation Project is “America’s progress report,” assessing how the U.S. is doing as a country. The Project is launching its 250th Anniversary Edition in June with its first State of the States project.
This special “Utah’s progress report” event will include the first look at Utah's data and how the state compares.
This important event will feature a conversation about the high points of the data (such as the economy) and the low points (such as mental health).
Our speakers include:
Robert Spendlove is the Senior Economist for Zions Bank. In this capacity, he monitors and reports on economic indicators and public policy developments for the bank. Robert previously served in the Utah House of Representatives from 2014 to 2024. His service in the legislature included leading several committees, including Executive Appropriations, Revenue and Taxation, and Health and Human Services.
Laura Summers serves as the director of industry research at the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute, conducting research on health care data, policies, and impacts to the Utah health care sector. Prior to joining the Institute, Laura was the senior director of state intelligence at Leavitt Partners, and before that, served as the research director of the Utah Foundation.
