Weaving Indigenous Perspectives into Local Conservation and Restoration

Weaving Indigenous Perspectives into Local Conservation and Restoration

Zoetropolis Cinema StillhouseLancaster, PA
Overview

Through storytelling and dialogue, come learn about local ecological and cultural history from subject matter experts and Indigenous voices.

You will hear from conservation professionals, RiverStewards Collaborative and LandStudies, who represent the science and engineering, or the “head and the hands” of a “two-eyed seeing” approach to ecological restoration, as well as the local Conestoga-Susquehannock Tribe and Circle Legacy Center community group who represent the cultural relationship to the ecosystem, or the “soul”. The event will include a presentation, short documentary screening on the Conestoga River followed by a panel discussion.

This event is part of the Lancaster Water Week series of events hosted by the Lancaster Conservancy.
