Explore the cultural and historical significance of White River State Park on a one-hour walking tour with Indiana Landmarks. Guides will share stories of the park’s history, from the time of Indianapolis’s settlement to the present day, tracing how the area evolved from a hub of transportation and industry to a center for recreation, culture, and entertainment. The tour will highlight how historic landmarks became assets within the park including the 1916 Washington Street bridge, limestone-lined river promenade, 1870 pumphouse, Central Canal, and more.

The outdoor walking tour departs from White River State Park Visitor Center (801 W. Washington St, Indianapolis). Groups will cover approximately one mile over the course of 60 minutes.

Indiana Landmarks proudly presents this tour in partnership with the White River State Park Development Commission.
