Mandy Greeris a multi-disciplinary artist who creates heightened narrative space through fiber-based installation, photography, performance, film and community-based action.She teaches her experimental approach tofiber workshops in her own Columbia City, Seattle-based studio.Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally at Centro di Cultura Contemporanea at Palazzo Strozzi, Florence, Italy; Cathedral St. John the Divine in NYC; Museum of Contemporary Craft, Portland, OR; Aqua Art Miami; Bellevue Arts Museum, Seattle Art Museum, Henry Art Gallery, and Frye Art Museum, Seattle, WA. Mandy has received numerous awards including the Arts Innovator Award from Artists Trust/The Dale and Leslie Chihuly Foundation and the prestigious Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Award. She has been featured and reviewed in many publications including the New York Times, Hi-Fructose Magazine, Redefine Magazine, Seattle Magazine and Art Ltd.Mandy Greer has an MFA from the University of Washington, and has taught clay, fiber and art in a broad spectrum of settings. She has taught as an adjunct professor at The University of Washington and The University of South Florida. She has taught school-aged and adult programs at The Frye Art Museum, Bellevue Art Museum, Seattle Art Museum, The Hudson River Museum and through Seattle Public Schools and Mercer Island School district. She has lectured and taught workshops at UW, Evergreen State University, Western Washington University and Emory University, and has designed and taught clay curriculum to teachers in Bellevue Public Schools.mandygreer.org

We'll be learning the chain stitch, so if you've never crocheted before, don't fret! I will teach you with a giant crochet hook!<br></h3><h3><br></h3><h3>In this four-hour workshop, I’ll show you my technique for making highly textured wool snowballs, using a wide selection of yarns and fabrics so even though all our pom-poms are white, everyone's will have their own unique character.</h3><h3><br></h3><h3>Making giant bespoke pom-poms gives you a little hit of dopamine when you cut them open, like opening a present! Everyone loves seeing the surprise inside!</h3><h3><br></h3><h3><br></h3>

<p><br></p><h3>We’ll be working in whites and creams, but I'll have a bin of other colors of reclaimed fabrics, so you can add in pops of color to match your own holiday decorating vibe ( like flecks of pink or something!)<br></h3><h3>All materials and supplies provided, and tea and wrapped snacks!</h3><h3><br></h3><h3>This class is great for getting together with friends, family or work colleagues to get crafty and festive, using luxurious and reclaimed fibers to give this project a real hand-made sensibilty! All in my warm and cozy studio, drinking tea and snacking by the wood stove.</h3><p><br></p>

So spread the word to friends! I'll let you know a week before class if it is likely to be canceled or not, and a refund will be issued. If you want to have your class run, you need to invite friends along! </strong></strong></h4><h4><br></h4><h4><br></h4><h4><strong><strong>AGE/ABILITY: </strong></strong><strong><strong>Great for beginners to fiber arts! It's relatively easy, but does require A LOT of cutting through layers of yarn, so may irritate hands that have issues with arthritis or weakness. For adult learners, and children 13 and up who have an interest in fiber arts and ability to focus for 4 hours are welcome to attend with a registered adult.
